Photos of the New House
Here are some photos of the our new house.....(I just got photos of the living room and dining
room). More to come next time!
Merry Christmas! Behind the Christmas tree is the front door.
This is the living room.....with the Christmas tree we decorated last week.
This is the fireplace...it is what separates the living room and the dining room. Which is so nice right now coz it's been cold....
This is the dining room....I had two tables together because this was for Thanksgiving dinner. We were expecting thirteen people.
Just a closer shot of the fireplace...which is one of my favorite features of the house.....

The Boy in Striped Pajamas
Okay......the last two weeks have been about TWILIGHT and I still refuse to watch it....so....in my quest to find an alternative movie to watch, I stumbled upon a little movie called "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" which was based on a book.
The movie was absolutely one of the best movies I have ever seen...the storytelling was impeccable, and the message was clear...and very emotional. I was in tears..and had to hold it in really bad because I would have sobbed like a baby. I have never been in a movie theater where people sat quietly all through the very end of the credits before they exited in silence. You can hear people crying....and this was no love story. It was a piece of history in the eyes of two 8 year old boys from two different backgrounds.
I saw this with my buddy Joe, while my wife and her friend, Amy were watching Twilight. I have to say that I got my money's worth!
Every now and then...a movie comes along and it just makes you realize why you love watching movies to begin with. And it's not about the special effects.....or the popular movie stars...but it's about the power of a movie to influence you to feel and do something better.

Monday adventures!
I had a great weekend! We finished decorating the Christmas tree....and unpacked more boxes...and even got the swing set from the old house.....so...it was great and busy......
Then Sunday came and I made egg rolls! Lots of them! It's nice to live close by to my mom so she came by and picked up some of the egg rolls too. I made a lot...like over a 100! So...we needed help! We gave some to our neighbor too...then we had an old friend, Isaac came by for dinner too. I baked a whole chicken with cream of chicken (canned) and it was yum-o! Of course, you eat that with rice!
And Monday came! Aside from waking up later that expected....I rush to get to the moving truck (which I borrowed from work) only to find out that it wouldn't start! I am not the person who knows anything about cars...other than driving and pumping gas......so...I was under a lot of stress. I knew I had jumper cables inside the house...so I pretended to know what I was doing. Michelle moved her car in front of the truck....and I proceeded to pretened I had it all under control...I think partly because I wanted to impress myself....
I looked at the battery...and attached the jumper cable....as if I was a certified auto mechanic....I started the truck and nothing.........I tried a few times again and nothing......a few moments later...I started smelling something burning.....so I quickly ran to the front of the truck...and saw the jumper cable in smoke...and as I grabbed it...and pulled it from the battery...it felt hot...and it looked like it was melting...or melted.....so I realized I was in no shape or form to remedy the problem I had.....

I gathered my thoughts and convinced myself that I must have used an "inferior" jumper cable...so I decided to take my wife's car and drive to Super Target which is only a mile away. I called work and told them of my dilemma....so no one would expect to be there at 8:00 a.m.
A few minutes later, and $20.00 poorer, I was armed with my new super heavy duty jumper cable! I was excited! I was very very confident that I had it all under control! A few minutes later...I attached the jumper cables to both batteries...I attempted to start the car with a silent prayer in my heart and a deep sigh....and alas......NOTHING. Absolutely nothing....and all of a sudden....the same results....the cable started melting and there was smoke from the battery....and my heart sank in quiet desperation...almost every hope was lost.....and I was almost out of ideas.....
I quickly unplugged the jumper cable to prevent it from melting like butter.....and I must have been hit by sudden inspiration when I suddenly looked at the battery from Michelle's car....it was then I realized that I had the positive and the negative switched!!!! How can I???? But I have many reasons! My eyes are slanted..and I have old contacts! I can't see!
Anyway...the truck started after that! And I was happy once again!
Now.....I hope to have learned from this mistake!

Car Crash February 8, 2008
Bye Bye Mommy's car
Slow down! Icy Road Conditions!
The picture above shows what happened to the car after I got into car crash on my way to work. I left at 6 a.m. hoping to beat rush hour traffic not thinking about the bad road conditions. I haven't gone to work for a couple of days and I know I needed to get back in the office. it was about 3 miles from my house where I was driving over an icy bridge and I lost control of the car. I don't remember much from what happened other than the fact that I tried to gain control of the car as I was swerving left and right and I missed one car, but another car headed towards me from the opposite direction hit me right on and I spun around. It all happened really fast! I remember checking to make sure I could feel my feet. And then I called 911. A police officer was there within minutes. The trip to the hospital was unbearable even though they hit me with morphine! I laid on that stretcher in the emergency room for hours because they wouldn't move me until all the x rays and scans were completed and evaluated. It was a pretty uncomfortable 5 hours! But I got out of it okay without any major injuries - just a few bruises here and there. I was glad! I am grateful that my life did not end then! I had a few thoughts go through my head as I hit that truck. One thing was: "Did I buy enough life insurance to sustain my family? and "Am I ready to go?" Sadly, the answer to both questions were no. And it makes me realize how short and unpredictable this life is. I really want to be a better person, to really cherish every single minute I have with my family. I love my wife and my son, and the rest of my family, but to go through an experience when it seemed like everything was to be stripped of you, it really opens your eyes to a better perspective of what is truly important in life.
